Mary Lou Bloemker, age 84, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 6:20 PM Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Newton Care Center in Newton, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Mary Lou’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 9 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rev. Stephen Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday. Mary Lou was born on December 1, 1935, in North Muddy Township, Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Burl and Margaret (McCoy) Davis. She graduated from Newton Community High School in 1954. Mary Lou was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Kedron United Methodist Church in Newton, Illinois. Mary Lou played piano at many area churches for several years. She enjoyed crocheting and crafting and shared her scrubbers and towels with those she loved. Mary Lou and her friend Roy Link enjoyed attending local dances and visiting with friends.

Mary Lou is survived by: Daughter – Carleen Bolyard of Newton, Illinois; Grandsons - Nathan Carter of Casey, Illinois and Kaleb Bolyard of Charleston, Illinois; Niece - Karla Wong of Farmington, Arkansas.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Howard K. Davis and Bobby G. Davis; and her special friend Roy Link.
