Brian Lee Miller, 38, of Montrose, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family after an 18-month battle with brain cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 11 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service all at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church and School in Sigel or to Fr. Suresh Sambaturu for the St Padre Pio Orphanage in India. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here

Brian was born on March 2, 1981, in Oxford, Ohio, the son of Roger and Debbie (Ingall) Miller. He married Teri Lyn Fearday on April 23, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sigel. Brian graduated from Connersville High School in 1999 and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Brian was the co-owner of In-Sync Engineering. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, and he coached track at St. Michael School for 7 years.

Brian had a deep devotion to God and his family. He loved to dream and make plans for the family homestead and faced each day and task with joy. His contagious smile and positive attitude shone through whether he was gardening, chopping wood, flipping compost, planting trees, coaching track, or engineering solutions for In-Sync. He felt every chore was a gift from God to be done with family. His love for life radiated from him to all those who knew him.

In his free time, Brian loved playing soccer, building campfires, hiking, camping, exploring national parks, boating, swimming, water skiing, mushroom hunting, and so many other activities with his family in God’s creation.

Brian is survived by his wife, Teri of Montrose; children, Harrison, Ava, Graham, Simon, and Livian; father and mother, Roger and Debbie Miller of Connersville, Indiana; brother, Brenton (Megan) Miller; sister, Stephanie Eckerle; paternal grandmother, Sue Miller; maternal grandmother, Sondra Ingall; uncle, Kevin (Judy) Ingall, aunt, Jennifer (Stuart) Jones, and uncle, Len Miller; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Martha Fearday of Sigel; brothers-in-law, Kriss (Cari) Fearday, Stan (Shari) Fearday, and Greg (Molly) Fearday; and 17 nieces and nephews.    

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lily Ann Miller; paternal grandfather, Lucius Miller; and maternal grandfather, Walt Ingall.
