Harold L. Meyer, 78, of Horn Lake, MS, formerly of Teutopolis, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on October 30, 1939 in Teutopolis, Illinois to the late Andrew Meyer and Kathryn Laux Meyer. Mr. Meyer was one who enjoyed life. He loved to dance and have a good time. While serving with the National Guard, he was an expert marksman. Although he had other jobs throughout his lifetime, driving trucks was by far his favorite. Mr. Meyer also loved deep sea fishing. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by everyone he came into contact with though out his lifetime.

He is survived by his son, David Meyer (Cathy) of Forgan, OK; one daughter, Cynthia Heuerman (Scott) of Southaven, MS; two brothers, Donald Meyer and William “Bill” Meyer; a close friend, Mahaley Hames, five grandchildren, Chelsy Waters, Slayde Meyer, Cody Heuerman, Cole Heuerman, and Joshua Heuerman; six great-grandchildren, Madison Heuerman, Tyler Heuerman, Luke Heuerman, Theodore Heuerman, Isabell Waters, and Alayna Waters.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years, Joyce West Meyer; his parents; and two bothers Eugene Meyer and his twin, Gerald Meyer.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, August 31 at St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. An Open House will follow at 1pm Saturday at the Teutopolis American Legion Post Home.
