Mariann Austin (86) of Shelbyville

Mariann Austin, 86, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 7:31 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in her residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Memorial Sunken Garden Project in Forest Park, Shelbyville, IL.

Mariann was born on July 9, 1932 in Herrick, IL, the daughter of Jacob Wilmer and Bernice (Reynolds) Chamberlain. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the class of 1950. Mariann began working for A & P in Shelbyville. She later worked for Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou, Inc. in Shelbyville and retired from Shelbyville Monument Company. Mariann was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, IL and enjoyed traveling, making crafts and working in her flowers. She married Elden Dean Austin on July 4, 1948. He passed away on October 21, 2007.

She is survived by her grandsons, Bret Austin of Shelbyville, IL, Brock (Crystal) Austin of Shelbyville, IL and Chris (Tabitha) Austin of Dalton City, IL; great grandchildren, Daric Austin and Nick Hoehn both of Shelbyville, IL and Connor, Audrey and Lucas Austin all of Dalton City, IL; and sister-in-law, Marie Chamberlain of Effingham, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean; son, Camron Kean Austin on September 30, 2007; and brothers, Wilmer Chamberlain and two in infancy.
