Danny Lee Davis, age 61, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 3:55 PM Sunday, June 2, 2019, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Danny will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 6 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Mike Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the Headyville Cemetery south east of Dieterich, Illinois, with full military rites. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service, at the funeral home. Danny was born on December 7, 1957, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of William and Carol (Bradley) Davis. He married Brenda Winterrowd Brown on December 7, 2002, in Dieterich Christian Church in Dieterich, Illinois. Danny served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1987. He took great pride being a Union Carpenter and pile driver, building bridges across the nation. Danny was an avid NASCAR fan that loved to travel to races, Talladega being his favorite track. He was an avid football fan following Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed trapping and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Danny is survived by Wife of 17 years - Brenda Winterrowd Brown of Dieterich, Illinois; Children - William Davis of Canon City, Colorado; Chelsea (Mike) Richardson of Fort Campbell of Kentucky and Joshua Davis of Colorado; Step Son - Anthony “Tony” (Brandie) Johnson of Dieterich, Illinois; Grandchildren - Kyla Lee Johnson; Jordan Anthony Johnson; Ben Davis and Kaleena Davis; Siblings - Scott (Mary) Davis of Illiopolis, Illinois; Ben (Dawn) Davis of Mt. Zion, Illinois; Joi (Tim) Hill of Illiopolis and James Davis of Decatur, Illinois; Special Aunt - Cindy Wickline of Decatur, Illinois; Best Friend - Rodney Morey of Decatur, Illinois; His special friend – Baby the Cat.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in law Frank and Mary Winterrowd and an uncle Charles “Bud” Bradley.
