Margaret Mae Shelton, age 90, of Watson, Illinois passed away at 3:45 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Long time personal friend Judy Poe will be officiating. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Margaret was born on November 19, 1928 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence W. and Edith Marie (Walls) Levitt. She married Thomas Shelton on November 8, 1947 in Effingham, Illinois. She loved line dancing, video recording, playing guitar, shopping, music, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a great love for all of her family.
She is survived by her three sons, W.C. Shelton (wife Sandy) of Heartville, Illinois, Danny Shelton (wife Barb) of Effingham, Illinois, and Bobby Shelton of Watson, Illinois; daughter, Jeanne “Gina” Clagg (husband Todd) of Watson, Illinois; three brothers, Chuck Levitt of Altamont, Illinois, Jim Levitt (wife Louise) of North Carolina, and Bill Levitt (wife Joann) of Charleston, Illinois; sister, Mary Lou Bonwell of Effingham, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, one great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edith Levitt; husband, Thomas Shelton; son, Tommy Shelton; two brothers, Clarence Levitt Jr and Harold Levitt; three sisters, Rosie Rexroad, Beulah Dilworth, and tiny Levitt whom died in infancy.
