Roger Lee Groves (65) of Louisville

Roger Lee Groves, 65, of Louisville passed away at 1:07 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born on February 6, 1954 in Decatur, IL the son of the late Lawrence “Larry” and Peggy (Britton) Groves. Roger worked for many years as the regional manager for Speed Lube. He enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was meticulous about his yard and enjoyed cutting grass. Roger loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them; especially the grandkids.

He is survived by two sons; Ryan (Staci) Groves stationed in El Paso, Texas and Jason Groves of Louisville, a daughter; Whitney (Joshua) Smith of Wasilla, Alaska, two brothers; Tony (Louanne) Groves of Louisville and Tracy (Ann) Groves of Bible Grove, a sister; Theresa Lake of Mattoon, nine grandchildren; Gunnar, Sylys, Sylvyah, Bailee and Kaydence Groves, K’Lee Messina, Havok and Jolea Smith and by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services honoring the life of Roger will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 31 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Pastor Duane Ambrose will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of services on Sunday. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Old Union Church of Christ Cemetery.
