Cecilia D. “Cissey” Johnson, age 50, of Altamont, Illinois, and formerly of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:20 PM - Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Sunday, February 24 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Tom Matson officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. In loving memory of Cecilia, memorials may be made to the family. Cecilia better known as “Cissey” was born on September 7, 1968, in Zion, Illinois the daughter of Cecil and Ina (Robards) Johnson. She worked in the contract department of Community Support Systems in Teutopolis, Illinois. Cissey enjoyed watching TV and was an avid Elvis Presley fan.
Cecilia is survived by: Mother - Ina Maroon of Altamont, Illinois; Father - Cecil (Margaret) Johnson of Zion, Illinois; Brothers - Rich (Andrea) Harris of Vandalia, Illinois; Leon (Kathy) Harris of Ste. Marie, Illinois and Ricky Johnson of Waukegan, Illinois; Sisters - Jackie Harris of Altamont, Illinois and Carolyn Harris of Sesser, Illinois; Step Siblings - Debbie, Billy and Cindy.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her sister Cathy Jo Harris and a brother Steve Johnson.
