Deborah Jean Banning, 66, of rural Beecher City (Holliday), IL, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 in her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Brad Shaw officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday and one hour before the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Assumption, IL. Memorials may be given to the Sunshine Foundation or Ronald McDonald House, Springfield, IL.
Debbie was born on December 11, 1952 in Assumption, IL, the daughter of Alfred Gene and Ellen J. (Camac) Buckles. She graduated from Assumption High School the Class of 1971 and later earned her Associates Degree in early childhood education from Lake Land College, Mattoon, IL. Debbie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidering, making crafts, taking care of people and spending time with her family. She attended Blue Point Baptist Church near Shumway, IL. Debbie married Arnold A. Banning on July 14, 1973.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold of rural Beecher City, IL; daughter, Angela Norton (Matt) of Merrillville, IN; son, Christopher Banning (January) of Latham, IL; brothers, Edward Buckles (Judy) of Decatur, IL, and John Buckles (Shelby) of Owaneco, IL; sister-in-law, Gail Buckles of Lakewood, IL; grandchildren, David, Esther, and Hannah Banning; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Douglas Buckles.
