Bonnie F. Barbee, 96 of Louisville passed away at 2:45 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

She was born on March 8, 1922 in Louisville, the daughter of the late Keller and Josie Stanfield. She was united in marriage to Rolla Barbee on February 27, 1941 in Old Monroe, MO and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2014. To this union were born one daughter and two sons.

Mrs. Barbee was employed by the Shoe Factory in Flora and also with Fedders, Inc. in Effingham. She was a faithful member of the Red Brush Christian Church and was baptized at a young age. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, having family gatherings and was known for cooking large meals. She was also known by her grandchildren as “Grandma Cookie” because her cookie jar was always full.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Ernie (Sally) Barbee of Louisville; grandchildren, Sherry (David) Harrington, Lisa (Darrell) McKnelly, Bill Holeman and Gary (Katie) Barbee all of Louisville, Maria (Dan) Myers of Westfield, IN; Laurie (Jim) Bossman and Brad Barbee all of Evansville, IN; thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and her brother, Bob (Sue) Stanfield of Louisville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Eila Holeman; a son, Ed Barbee; sisters, Ruby Pierson, Anna Daugherty, Della Kidwell and Alice Willison and by brothers, Riley, Immel and Ed Stanfield.

Funeral services honoring the life of Bonnie will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 18 at the Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville. Bro. Gary Barbee and Bro. Ron Payne will officiate. Interment will follow at the Red Brush Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the time of services on Friday at the church. Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville is in charge of the care and arrangements. Memorial contributions in Bonnie’s memory will be received at the church and funeral home and may be made to Oil Belt Christian Service Camp in Flora.
