Ethel Pauline Lange-Beckman, 78 of Effingham and formerly of Kinmundy passed away at 11:55 am on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Willow Brook Memory Care Centre in Effingham.

She was born on December 30, 1939 in Shelbyville, IL the daughter of the late Herman and Floy (Johnston) Simmons. Pauline married Wilmer Lange on June 9, 1957 in Tower Hill, IL and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2001. She later married Don Beckman on May 8, 2004 in Teutopolis, IL and he survives.

Pauline was a cook at the Kinmundy Grade School for many years until her retirement. She later worked at the Kinmundy IGA and was also a volunteer with the local Meals on Wheels program. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shobonier and was a former member of the Shanghai Club in Kinmundy. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and the outdoors. Pauline loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Don, she is survived by a son, Steven (Crystal Beck) Lange of St. Peter; a daughter, Sheila (Chuck) Purcell of Vandalia; Eleven step-children; Donnie (Penny), Colleen (Mike), Gerard (Vicki), Dolores (Ed), Hank (Shelly), Ann (AJ), Ginny (Neil), Tony (Michelle), Ben (Amy), Karen (Tim), and Randy; Five grandchildren, Bret, Alissa, Chelsey, Kendra and Seth; great grandson, Camden; twenty-three Step Grandchildren and two Step Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Pauline will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, December 29 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shobonier with Pastor Douglas Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Shobonier. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Friday at the church and Saturday from 10 am until the time of services. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Paul Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy.
