Rosanna D. (nee Walker) McKnelly, 99, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in rural Louisville, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rosanna was born on August 6, 1919, in Effingham County, IL, the daughter of Ben and Katie (Ooton) Walker. She was united in marriage to Oral D. McKnelly in 1941, and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1994.                       

Rosanna was a file clerk for the Illinois State Police. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Effingham. She enjoyed mowing her yard and watching the horse races. She would never pass up having a good steak. She also loved her motorcycles. Rosanna was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was loved by many family members and friends.

Rosanna is survived by her son, Lee (Della) McKnelly of Springfield; daughter, Pat (Jorge) Barraza of Littleton, CO; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Sandy and Jerry Allen and Glenda and Richard Matheny.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Oral; son, Richard (Martha) Radley; sister, Ruby Ring; and brothers, Jim Walker and Elmer “Buck” Walker.
