Carolyn Ann (Wade) Alexander (81) of Toledo

Carolyn Ann (Wade) Alexander, loving wife and mother of three children, went home to the Lord at the age of 81 on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Carolyn was born on March 17th in 1937 to Helen (Bailey) and Dean Wade. She graduated from Cumberland High School as the salutatorian of her class in 1955. On November 16th 1956, Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Bruce, in France. Together, Carolyn and Bruce raised one daughter, Lee, and two sons, Bruce and Tyler, in Nebraska, California and Texas. After raising their children, they returned back to Toledo where they would reside for nearly three decades. Carolyn dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and an active member in the United Methodist Women. Carolyn retired as an accountant from Pace Foods in Texas and, later, Ben Tire in Toledo. For several years, she ran Alexander’s Service Station with her husband Bruce and their youngest son, Tyler. In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering with the UMW.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Winonna McMechan and her brother Gerald Atkins.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, her three children: Lee (Jeff) Cross, Bruce (Tammy) Alexander and Tyler (Kristen) Alexander, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday December 17 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 to service time on Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.
