Sharon Kay Duckwitz, 69 of Effingham, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Brookstone Estates in Effingham.

A Celebration of Life service for Sharon will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham with Pastor Jason E. Rensner officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. till service time Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the donor’s choice. Condolences may be left online at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.

Sharon was born on February 5, 1943, in Salem, IL, the daughter of Edward and Grace Fitzwilliam. Sharon was a homemaker, a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Altamont.

Survivors include 4 children; Jayne (Jerry) Edwards of Altamont, Michael Duckwitz of Altamont, Todd (Tracy) Duckwitz of Hickory, NC. and Vicki (Matthew) Blacker of Effingham, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Susan (Alan) Hampson of Dalgren, IL. and Barbara (David) Forrest of Mt. Vernon, brother; Thomas Fitzwilliam, Sr, of Altamont and special friends; Cheryl Nuxoll & Carol Dickenson both of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
