Stanley Matthew Callahan, age 91, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 10:13 AM – Sunday August 19, 2018, at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, Illinois.

Stanley was born on May 17, 1927, in Mullen, Illinois, the son of Stanley L. Callahan and Elsie K. (Worton) Callahan. He married Wanda Stateler on May 21, 1949, in rural Greenup, Illinois, in the Walla Walla community. Stanley served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. He worked as a truck driver for many years at Blaw-Knox and Trailmobile. Stanley was a member of the American Legion Post #88 of Mattoon, Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Mattoon, Eagles of Mattoon and the NRA. Stanley enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed his horses and trail riding.

Stanley is survived by: Wife of 69 years – Wanda Callahan of Neoga, Illinois; Son – Alan (Nancy) Callahan of Mattoon, Illinois; Son-in-law – Fred Wisniewski of Urbana, Illinois; Grandchildren – Sherri (Ed) Wilson, Mathew (Jessica) Stinson, Christine Stinson Daniels, Fred Callahan; Great Grandchildren – Kaleb Hull, Taylor Wilson, Kayden Stinson, Katelynn Stinson, Mason Daniels, Ashley Daniels, Karsyn Stinson and Kamdyn Stinson; Sisters – Gail Katherine Callahan of Chicago Heights, Illinois and Anna Mae Madison of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Treva Sue Callahan, and a brother Lynn Callahan.
