Pauline M. Probst, 87, passed away at 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at her home in rural Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 7 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bishop Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7- p.m., Sunday evening at the church with a 3:30 p.m. C.C.W. rosary and a 7 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help or the Franciscan Mission Union. Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family with arrangements. Pauline was born June 1, 1925 in Effingham, the daughter of Aloysuis and Frances (Willenborg) Haarmann. She married Eugene A. Probst May 20, 1950. He and Pauline have lived on their rural Effingham farm for over 62 years. Pauline was a member of the St. Isidore Parish, St. Isidore Council of Catholic Women and the Third Order of Franciscans in Teutopolis.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Eugene of rural Effingham; three sons, Frank (wife Darcilene) of Santarem, Brazil, South America, Earl (wife Mary Jo) of Dieterich and Steve of Effingham; four daughters, Sister Connie Probst OSF, Franciscan Sister of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of St. Louis, Mo., Margie (husband Tom) Deters of Sigel, Donna (husband Bob) Lueken of Effingham and Carol Jean (husband Bruce) Bueker of Sigel; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy (husband Eugene) Westendorf and Verena Kemme; four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Haarman, Stella Probst, Adeline Probst and Theresa Probst; brother-in-law, Francis Wente.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, James E. Bueker; siblings, Albert, Aloys, Laura Haarmann and Florence Goldstein.
