James F. "Jim" Lindley, 84, of Mattoon, formerly of Neoga died at 8:50 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Mattoon Rehabilitation & Health Center in Mattoon.

James was born September 14, 1933, in Neoga, Illinois the son of Morton and Nora (Wright) Lindley. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for over twelve years. He was a retired cook and was formerly employed by the Burger King restaurant and Hoots-Haus of Mattoon. Jim was an avid walker and he knew everyone. His family was very important to him, and especially the grandchildren.

Mr. Lindley leaves one daughter, Patricia Miller of Mattoon, Il; four brothers, Rex Lindley (Karen), (Larry Lindley (Katie) and Dan Lindley all of Neoga, IL and Jerry Lindley (Virginia) of Mattoon, IL; three sisters, Marge Humes (Jerry) of Upland, CA, Doris Ambruster of Ontario, CA and Karla Sylvester of Neoga, IL; three grandchildren, Erica Miller, Uriah Miller and Savannah Miller all of Mattoon, IL; and six great grandchildren.

Mr. Lindley was preceded in death by; his parents; one brother, David Lindley; one sister. Letha Smith. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Erica Miller, 408 ½ Lakeland Blvd., Mattoon, IL 61938.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 28 in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga with the Rev. Richard Coen of Neoga officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. Saturday until service time at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery of Neoga, IL with Military Services conducted by the Votaw -Swank Post # 458 of Neoga, Illinois. .
