Eric Robert Fehrenbacher, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 6:11 PM – Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Monday, March 19 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 PM – Sunday at the church and ½ hour before the mass. In loving memory of Eric, memorials may be made to the Madison and Maddox Francisco Education Fund. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Eric was born on May 7, 1985, in Seoul, South Korea, the son of Lowell B. and Arlene M. (Niebrugge) Fehrenbacher. He grew up in Jasper County, attending St. Thomas Catholic School, Newton Community High School and Lakeland College. Eric never met a stranger and was known for his witty personality and his smile. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Eric loved his work as a pipeline worker and equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers #841 of Terre Haute, Indiana.

Eric is survived by: Mother - Arlene Fehrenbacher of Dieterich, Illinois; Father - Lowell Fehrenbacher of Newton, Illinois; Sister - Amber (Jesse) Francisco of Columbia, Missouri; Niece and Nephew - Madison and Maddox Francisco of Columbia, Missouri; Grandmother - Marcella Niebrugge of Dieterich, Illinois; and Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Rita Fehrenbacher and Robert Niebrugge.
