Donna Jean Bloemer, 74, of Effingham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in Green Creek with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Community Support Systems or to Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Donna was born January 17, 1944 in Mattoon, the daughter of John and Madonna (Sowers) McKinley. She married Joseph Maurice Bloemer on August 8, 1963. Donna worked as a care giver and hairdresser for many years. She always put others needs before hers, this was one of her greatest attributes. Donna was a member of St. Mary’s Help of Christian Catholic Church and belonged to Home Extension, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Ladies’ Sodality.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Joe and their children, Jodie (Doug) Pruemer,  Randy (Tracy) Bloemer and Annette (Chad) Flood; grandchildren, Heather (Phil) Worman, Kyle Pruemer, Amanda (Jonathan) Tebbe, Kristen (Jared) Walk, Mitch Bloemer, Haley Isley, Karli Isley, Adra Baker, Ethan Baker, and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marsha (Russell) Hinchee and Paula (Darrell) Whitsett and brother, James Gordan (Sue) McKinley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry McKinley and Johnnie McKinley.
