Noel Cleveland Hyde Jr., age 74, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 7:32 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home in Edgewood, Illinois.

Celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 14 at the Harvest United Methodist Church in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one hour viewing prior to the service. Reverend Judith Hamrick, Jeff Morrison and Ron Mulvaney will be officiating. Burial will be at Sidener Cemetery in rural St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may go to the Hope Lodge of American Cancer Society, Farina First Southern Baptist Church, Harvest United Methodist Church, or the donor’s choice.

Noel was born on March 1, 1943 in Doniphan, Missouri, the son of Noel Sr. and Henrietta (Brooks) Hyde. He married Karen S. Durbin on July 25, 1964 at the First Baptist Church in St. Elmo, Illinois. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Farina, Illinois and previously attended Harvest United Methodist Church in Edgewood, Illinois. He was a GED tutor for many years. He was an Amateur Radio Operator and a member of the Amateur Radio Club. No matter where he lived, he was a lifelong Cardinal fan, loved going to church and singing in Baber shop chorus, love hearing and making great puns, but lived his life by faith, family and country.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Hyde of Edgewood, Illinois; one son, Noel Anthony Hyde (wife Katie) of Volo, Illinois; daughter, Wendy Carlson of Charlottesville, Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Brandy Carlson, Karen Carlson, Stephen Hyde, and Nicole Hyde; 2 great- grandchildren, Holden Johns and Avery Johns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel Sr. and Henrietta Hyde; one brother, Jerald Hyde, and one grandson, Trevor Bieszczad.
