Lloyd Glenn Grotts, 80, of Saint Elmo, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017, in Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care, Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 21 at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL with Pastor Randy Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Mulberry Grove City Cemetery, Mulberry Grove, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday prior to the service at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Memorial Medical Center Transplant Services, Mailbox 87 701 N. First St., Springfield, IL 62781 Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 5, 1937 in Mulberry Grove, IL, the son of Elmer & Elva (Wehrle) Grotts. Lloyd was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union. He drove for Kreider Truck Service and finished his driving career with ABF Trucking. Prior to driving a truck, Lloyd worked for Pet Milk Inc. In his younger years he loved playing sports with his kids and was a life long Cardinals fan.  Lloyd was a kidney transplant recipient in 1999, receiving a kidney from his son, David.

He is survived by: Beloved Companion, Leona Delaney, Saint Elmo, IL; Sons - Kenton Grotts, Greenville, IL, David Grotts & Bridget, Pocahontas, IL and Thomas Grotts, Mulberry Grove, IL; Daughter - Rhonda Hayes & Mark, Greenville, IL; Sister - Patsy Tedrick & Special Friend, Harold Thull, Mulberry Grove, IL; Sister In-law- Melba Grotts, Mulberry Grove, IL; 9 Grandchildren and 1Great Grand Child.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Grotts.
