Lettie Mae Ring, 88, of Watson, IL, passed away at 7:03 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Old Union Church of Christ, rural Louisville. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, rural Louisville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church.

Lettie Mae was born on October 10, 1929, in Watson, IL, the daughter of Henry Blaine and Elsie Florence (Neville) Sutton. She married Charles Daniel Ring on June 16, 1949, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2007.
Lettie Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Old Union Church of Christ. There she was a song leader and Sunday school teacher for many years. She enjoyed singing and playing her guitar. Besides being a farm wife, Lettie Mae was also a school cook for Effingham Unit #40 later in life.
Lettie Mae is survived by her sons, David (Gayla) Ring of Effingham, Larry (JoAnn) Ring of Mason, and Bob (Lavonne) Ring of Effingham; daughter, Lori (Dallas) Bear of Effingham; grandchildren, Matthew (Susie) Ring of Chesterfield, MO, Blake (Lydia) Ring of Louisville, KY, Lauren (Brandon) Storm of St. Louis, MO, Mandi (Jonathan) Donaldson of Dieterich, Alec (Christina) Ring of Watson, Natalie (Kyle) Stortzum of Effingham, Kristen (Trent) Kreke of Mason, Jordan (Sadie) Bear of Neoga, Haylie Bear of Effingham, Benjamin (Hannah) Bear of Effingham, and Savannah Bear of Effingham; 26 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Alline (Ring) Lewis of Bible Grove, Colleen Sutton of Effingham, Erma Sutton of Mt. Zion, and Mildred Sutton of Flora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan; sisters, Clara Chisler, Gladys McClure, and Bernice Fitton; and brothers, Gilvie Sutton and John Sutton. Lettie’s family is comforted knowing that she knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and is now at home in Heaven.
