Delbert Wayne Figgins, 82, of rural Stewardson, IL, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18 in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Stewardson, IL with Pastor Daniel Towar and Pastor Larry Clonch officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Burial will be in Lower Ash Grove Cemetery, near Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Stewardson, IL or the 3ABN Broadcasting Network.

Wayne was born on August 30, 1935 in rural Stewardson, IL, the son of Irvin and Edna Fern Culver Figgins. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1953. Wayne began working for Harshman Industries in Sullivan, IL and was also a grain and dairy farmer in rural Stewardson, IL, operating a Grade A Dairy Farm. Wayne later worked for Irvin Thompson of Arcola, IL building grain bins and in 1970 became a distributor for Little Debbie Snack Cakes. He retired in 2002 and began delivering new horse trailers and R.V. campers all over the United States for a company in Elkhart, IN and most recently was a driver for the Amish. Wayne was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Stewardson, IL. He married Shirley Jean Farris on November 28, 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Steve Figgins of Effingham, IL; daughters, Connie Thompson and husband Steve of Stewardson, IL and Cathy Collins and husband Jim of Bismarck, AR; six grandchildren, Tammy Buchanan, Michael Thompson, Heather Brockett, Eric Voelker, Jacob Figgins and Elissa Figgins; and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wendell Figgins; and sisters, Wilma Decker and Wyonia Soper.
