Mary Pike, 79 of Effingham, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a 6:30 p.m. parish prayer service. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities or the local Catholic Schools.

Mary was born October 6, 1938 in Effingham, the daughter of Charles and Ann (Weber) Thoele. She married Arthur “Art” Pike on January 17, 1959 and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham for many years.
Mary is survived by her husband, Art of Effingham; son, Doug (Khwan) of Destin, FL and Doug's children, Andy (Julia) and Carrie (Lee); son, Alan of Charleston; son, Todd (Cindy) of Effingham and their daughter, Rachael (Damian); Matt (Erica) of Mahomet and their children, Juliana and Hudson. Mary is also survived by her sister, Doris Niemeyer of Teutopolis, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Elias and Oliver, sons of Carrie and Lee, and Parker, son of Rachael and Damian.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Thoele and sister, Carleen Wente.
