Dixie Lee Harnetiaux, age 68 of rural Greenville, passed away 12:58 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Corey Harz and Darryl Bolen officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. For those who desire, memorials may be made to the Bond County Hospice or the Harnetiaux Family.
Dixie Lee, the daughter of Rachel Leila Britton Young and Ross Delbert Young, was born September 17, 1944 in Vandalia. Dixie was raised in Vandalia, attended the locals schools and Vandalia High School. On June 8, 1968 Dixie and David Charles Harnetiaux were united in marriage in Vandalia, Illinois. They enjoyed 35 years of marriage until his passing on November 9, 2003. She was a waitress at 2 Acres in her young years. Dixie also worked as a cook from 2000-2006 at Farmer's Livestock south of Greenville. She mainly helped around the farm and raised her family.
Dixie is survived by her 4 children; Jule (Josh) Terry of Keyesport, Joe (Michele) Downen of Carlyle, David Michael (Julie) Harnetiaux of Greenville and Dawn (Jamie) Needham of Granite City, Illinois. She was the loving grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 4. Dixie also was survived by her siblings: sister Helen Gray (Ronnie) of Decatur, IL, brother Eddie Young (Doris) of St. Peter, IL, sister Susie Thompson of Brownstown, IL, sister MaryBeth Young of Clinton and sister Margaret Gall of Greenville, IL.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, husband David, son Jeff Young, 2 grandchildren, sister Barbara Littlejohn and brother Shirrell Taylor.
