Bobbie L. Balch, 79 of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 9:55 A.M. Friday, September 22, 2017, in the Carle Foundation Hospital of Urbana, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 (noon) on Wednesday, September 27 in the Grace United Methodist Church of Neoga, with Pastor Todd Krost officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery of Neoga, IL with Military Services conducted by the American Post # 88 of Mattoon, IL. Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Robin Lane, 705 South 36th. Street, Mattoon, IL 61938, or to donor's choice.

He was born August 2, 1938, the son of Joe and Stella (Carlen) Balch. Bobbie married Linda Mae Pedigo, June 17, 1957, in Mattoon, Illinois and Mrs. Balch passed away March 12, 2016. He served in the National Guard Unit of Mattoon, Illinois, a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Neoga, a member of the American Legion Post # 88 of Mattoon, IL and a member of the American Legion Post # 458, of Neoga. Bobbie was also a life member and past President of the Eagles Club of Mattoon. Mr. Balch was a retired Machine Operator, for Young Radiator Company of Mattoon and he also was a water meter reader for the City of Neoga. Bobbie enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Mr. Balch leaves four daughters, Robin Lane (Darrell), Toni Trier (David) and Belinda Balch all of Mattoon, IL and Terri Hays (Scot) of Charleston, IL; one brother, Joe Balch (Sharon) of Lerna, IL; one sister, Sharon White (Loren) of Toledo, IL; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Mr. Balch was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Mae Balch; one brother, Max Balch; one granddaughter, Tayler Ann Romine.
