Gayla Faye Krause, 55 years old of Salem, formerly of Decatur, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Thursday August 31, 2017 at the Salem Township Hospital, Salem Illinois.
Funeral Services will be conducted by the family at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 9 at the Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the funeral services at the Springhill Cemetery in rural Loudon Township, Beecher City, Illinois.
Gayla was born on August 11, 1962 in Decatur, Illinois into the Christian family of Troy and Mary Cummins Swarms. She was raised with her siblings Dennis, Scott, Terry, Gussie and Mary. She wed Fred Robert Krause III on June 25, 1983 in the South Shore Christian Church, Decatur, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2010. Gayla graduated from Cerro Gordo High School and was as housewife caring and raising a family with her husband.

In Her passing she leaves behind her: 3-Sons: Adam (wife, Amanda) Krause of Salem, Illinois, Joshua (wife, Leighann) Krause of Salem, Illinois and Jacob (wife, Emily) Krause of Fort Stewart, Georgia; 1-Daughter: Kayla Crain of Salem, Illinois; 4-Brothers: Dennis Swarms of Blue Mound, Illinois, Scott (wife, Patty) Swarms of Decatur, Illinois, Terry (wife, Tawnya) Swarms of St. Elmo, Illinois and Gussie (wife, Shayna) Swarms of Carmargo, Illinois; 1-Sister: Mary (husband, Ernie) Slaymaker of Harristown, Illinois; and 8- Grand Children—and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and 1-Granddaughter: Braxton Lee Crain.
