Phillip D. Marlow, 89, of Altamont, died at 9:51 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
A graveside service with military rites by Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger VFW Post 7676 will be held at Noon on Saturday, September 2 at Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham with Ron Mulvaney officiating. Memorials may be made to LCC Kids Enrichment Center, Altamont. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Phillip was born on Thursday, September 22, 1927 in Omega Township, Illinois to Donald and Lila (Remsburg) Marlow. He married Jeanne A. Sidener on July 10, 1948 at West Point Methodist Church, rural St. Elmo. He was a member of West Point Methodist Church, a WWII Army veteran, member of the St. Elmo American Legion, past member and director of the Farm Bureau and had been a 4-H leader.
He is survived by his daughters, Marsha K. Marlow of Rantoul, Mary Jo (Kenton) Jahraus of Kinmundy, Cindy Marlow of Normal, Ruth Ann (James) Brady of Watson, and Kathy (Wayne) Morgan of Wasilla, Alaska; 9 grandchildren, Ella Jahraus, Jonathon Jahraus, Andy (Ces) Reichert, Nathan (Samantha) Reichert, Krista (Mel) Lunny, Lori (Joe) Cora, Craig (Chris) Morgan, Mark Morgan, and Nick (Melissa) Morgan; 15 great grandchildren, Michaela Phillips, Alana Phillips, AnnMarie Cora, Parker Reichert, Emma Reichert, Nolan Reichert, Jessica Jo Morgan, Stephanie White, Melissa White, Steven Morgan, Michael Morgan, Bailey Morgan, Henry Lunny, Ellison Lunny, Sebastian Reichert; 2 great great granddaughters, Aurora White and Mykala White; sisters, Barb Hampson of Altamont, Adelia Banning of Edgewood, and Betty Marlow of Kell.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jeanne (May 26, 2011), brothers, Harold and William Marlow; sisters, Rosa Lee Seago, Janice Ernst, and Launa Jackson; and grandson, Michael Troy Bushue.
