Frank “Douglas” Martin, 81, of Mode, IL, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL.

In accordance with Doug’s wishes there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in Doug’s name.

Doug was born January 19, 1936, in Fancher, IL, the son of Cecil Vernon and Wilma (Smith) Martin. He was a graduate of Cowden High School. He proudly served his Country in the Navy during the Korean War Era. He was a member of the Shelbyville VFW Post #4829. Doug retired from the County Highway Department and in his free time he loved to fish and winter in Texas.

He is survived by his daughter, Debi (Roger) Bailey of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Linda (Denny) Kneller of Shelbyville; nephew, Marvin (Sherry) Hapner of Mode; two nieces, Wanda Osborne of Mattoon and Carla (Mike) Canada of Shelbyville; and special friends John (Betty) Adams of Tower Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Martin and sister, Lois Dilley.
