Rosemary E. Greuel, 90, passed away Saturday evening, July 22, 2017 at her home in rural Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church, with a parish prayer service to follow. A scriptural rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. for those wishing to attend. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s School, Catholic Charities or the Effingham Area DeColores.

Rosemary Elizabeth (Deters) Greuel was born June 17, 1927 in Teutopolis, the second of six children to Henry and Mary (Zerrusen) Deters. She married Leonard R. Greuel on August 26, 1950. Rosemary was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Leonard of rural Effingham; 13 children, Mary Jo Orme of Sigel, Carol (Dale) Apke of Effingham, Michael (Sheila) of Sigel, Kathy (Rick) Syfert of Sigel, Leanne (Steve) Craig of Neoga, Maureen (Dave) Kastl of Effingham, David Greuel of Sigel, Tom (Jennifer) Greuel of Sigel, Rosalee (Bill) Thoele of Teutopolis, Loralee (Ron) Kelly of Shumway, Suzie (Steve) Kidd of Freeburg, Kevin (Laura) Greuel of Sigel and Robert (LeAnn) Greuel of Sigel; brother, Art (Betty) Deters of Teutopolis; sister, Dolores (Bernie) Will of Effingham; brother-in-law, Charlie Moon of Effingham and sister-in-law, Joan Deters of Teutopolis; 38 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren also survive.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clete; two sisters, Luella Will and Eileen Moon; one great-grandchild, Dezrea Woods.
