Richard Tucker, 66, Altamont died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church (ELCA), Altamont with Rev. Stephen Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S., Altamont or the donor’s choice.

Richard P. Tucker was born on Wednesday, September 13, 1950 in Altamont, IL to Forrest and Irene (Higgs) Tucker. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a retired bookkeeper and was an accomplished and well-known pianist and organist in Altamont and the surrounding area.
He is survived by: brothers, LeRoy Tucker, Altamont, Dennis (Karen) Tucker, Union, MO, Bruce Tucker, Altamont, Linder (Janeen) Tucker, DuQuoin and John Tucker, Effingham; sisters, Beverly (Al) Fasol, Ft. Worth, TX, Linda (Kimble) Foor, Shelbyville, Darlene Stewart, DuQuoin, and Marlene (Ken) Ginn, Altamont; several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
