Mary E. Frost (91) of Xenia

Mary E. Frost, age 91, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Friday morning, July 7, 2017, at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Illinois.
Mary was born November 16, 1925, in Louisville, the daughter of Alfred and Cora (Daugherty) Dawkins. She married Robert E. Frost on May 12, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and together they shared 54 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1997. Mary was a lifelong member of Bethel Christian Church of Louisville. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, a quilter who loved any kind of handwork including making Halloween costumes and clothing, and was also known for her cooking. Mary was very involved with her grandkids and great grandkids, and enjoyed having family over for the holidays.
Mary is survived by her son: James Frost (wife Janice) of Xenia; a daughter-in-law: Lois Frost of Altamont; 3 grandchildren: Dr. Robert Frost (wife Leigh) of Altamont, Amy Ruckman (husband Brad) of Altamont, and Jamie (Gordon) Kemmerer of Xenia; 6 great-grandchildren: Clayton and Allyson Ruckman, Sam and Norah Frost, and Glenn and Tyler Kemmerer; and a brother-in-law: Guy Frost of Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son: William Frost who passed away on January 20, 2009; a sister: Cleone Pulliam; and 3 brothers: Ervil Ray, Bernard, and William Dawkins.
A visitation for Mary Frost will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017, from 3-5 p.m. at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, followed by a graveside service at 5:30 p.m. at Oskaloosa Cemetery, Xenia.
