Sharon Koester, 71, of Effingham, formerly of Edina and Knox City, Missouri, passed away at 8:48 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her home, with her son by her side.
A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with burial to follow in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Sharon’s family to assist in funeral expenses.

Sharon Kay Ervin (Underbrink) Koester was born May 29, 1946 in Paris, the daughter of Ralph and Alice Allen (Roberts) Ervin. She enjoyed fishing, walking, country living and helping others.
Sharon is survived by her son, Eddie Underbrink (Angel Bourgeois) of Effingham; daughter, Christie Koester of Charleston; grandchildren, Nichole Underbrink (special friend, Derek Baker) of Hillsboro, Nicholas Underbrink (special friend, Malea Croy) of Effingham, Nadine Underbrink of Effingham and Chelci (Weston) Chatterton of Council Bluff, IA; great-grandchildren, Miley Beccue, Gannon Beccue, Elijah and Cayson Underbrink, all of Effingham, Ensley Baker of Hillsboro and Payton and Logan Robertson of Council Bluff, IA.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husbands, Clyde Underbrink and James Koester; step-sons, Wayne and Clyde Underbrink; step-daughter, Juanita Underbrink; step-grandchildren, Jackie Ficklin and Kathy Young and great-grandchild, Jackson Underbrink.
