Glenna Joann Shryock, 54, of Newton, Illinois passed away surrounded by her family at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Newton. Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
Glenna was born on February 25, 1963 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Glenn and Monica (Keller) Frichtl. She married Randall Shryock on June 18, 1983. Surviving is her husband Randy; father Glenn (Judi) Frichtl of Newton; children Leah (Donovan) Stopher of Greenup and Matthew Shyrock of Newton; brother Daniel Frichtl of Newton; nephew Zachary Frichtl of Noble and niece Lauryn Frichtl of Oblong. She was preceded in death by her mother Monica.
Glenna worked at Rex Vault Service in Newton as an Office Assistant for over 15 years. She loved sewing, photography and writing. She loved helping out with the high school musicals and was a huge supporter of the band program. She was very active as a member of the Scott Avenue Christian Church.
