Mildred M. Vahling, 94, of Teutopolis died at 7:29am Thursday, June 15, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday, June 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Monday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a 6:30pm combined CD of A and CCW ladies rosary. Memorials to the donor's choice.

Mildred was born November 28, 1922 in Sigel, the daughter of Martin C. and Mathilda (Buehnerkemper) Swingler. She married Frank J. Vahling on January 6, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1983. Mildred was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the Council of Catholic Women.
Mildred is survived by her two sons, Larry (Kay) Vahling of Kissimmee, FL and Gary (Lisa) Vahling of Teutopolis; two daughters, Mary Ann McClanahan of Pekin and Judy Vahling of Teutopolis; sister, Phyllis Buening of Effigham; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, James “Jim” Vahling and John Vahling; siblings, Wilbert K. Swingler, Harold V. Swingler, Marietta “Mickey” Tegenkamp and Russell Swingler.
