Jerry L. Staggs, 75, of Hord died Friday, June 9, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, June 15 at Hord Congregational Christian Church in Hord, with a one hour visitation beginning at 10am Thursday, and also from 5-7pm Wednesday at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will be in Old Union Cemetery, Louisville. Memorials may be made to Hord Congregational Christian Church or HSHS Hospice.

He was the son of Georgie and Helen (Peterson) Staggs. Jerry was a 1959 graduate of North Clay High School in Louisville, IL. He married Ann (Busch-Cooley) September 1970 in Decatur, IL. Jerry attended Hord Congregational Christian Church. He had businesses in Decatur, Mt. Zion, Mason and also Staggs Farm Equipment in Louisville. In later years, he worked for a trucking company hauling U.S. Mail. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and being outdoors.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Dale Staggs (died in Vietnam); Sister-in-law, Edith (Busch) Lenkner of Giessen, Germany; Brothers-in-law, Harry Lenkner of Giessen, Germany, Erich Arndt of Wiesbaden, Germany and several aunts and uncles.
