Noble Wayne Kirby, 68, of Calvert City, Kentucky, formerly of St. Elmo died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13 at Liberty Christian Church, Brownstown with Tom Fedrigon officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Avena with military rites by Brownstown V.F.W. Post 9770. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.

Wayne was born on Monday, July 19, 1948 in Salem, IL to Clifford Samuel, Sr. and Iva Belle (Haslett) Kirby. He graduated from St. Elmo High School in 1966 and following graduation served in the United States Army from March 14, 1967 until February 13, 1969. During his service he was stationed in Korea in Section A&B Battery 12th Artillery, and one year on the DMZ. After his service, he was a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, making several crafts, and enjoyed gardening, fishing and being with family and friends. The last several years he had made his home in Kentucky.

He is survived by: sons, Jon Kirby of California, Troy Pattillo of St. Elmo, Dustin Kirby of Benton, KY and Ryan Kirby of Benton, KY; grandsons, Skylar, Laden, and Isaiah; granddaughters, Olivia, Ava and Myra; brother, Sam, Jr. (Sherry) Kirby of St. Elmo; sisters, Jean (Lyle) Locke of Pana, Janet (Gene) Ireland of Beecher City, Lois Brozio of Decatur, and Lana (Lowell) Sefton of Brownstown; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece and nephew.
