Danny Aaron Miller, age 75, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, June 6, 2017, at his home.

A funeral service for Danny Miller will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 9 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial donations in Danny’s memory be given to North Clay Fire Protection District First Responders and these will be accepted at the funeral home.

Danny was born March 16, 1942, in Clay County, the son of Walter Dan and Jessie Margaret (Hayes) Miller. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Dawkins on September 16, 1960, at the Bethel Christian Church, and together they shared 56 years of marriage. Danny was owner/operator of Miller Oil Company, a retiree of Wabash Telephone Company, and a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville. Danny served 34 years on the Louisville Village Board and served briefly as mayor in 2004 and 2005. He was also a lifetime member and volunteer fireman with the North Clay Fire Protection District, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed gardening. Danny loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and attending their activities. He was anticipating his first great-grandchild in November.

He is survived by his wife: Phyllis Miller of Louisville; children: Pamela S. McKnelly (husband Joey) of Louisville and Steven W. Miller (wife Amy) of Effingham; 4 grandchildren: Emily (Jake) Draege, Jordan (Serena) McKnelly, Kathryn Miller, and Jessica Miller; siblings: Janice “Kay” (the late Jim) Newby of Louisville, Brenda “Sue” (Bob) Stanfield of Effingham, and Harold Lee (Jennie) Miller of Fairfield; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Dan and Jessie Miller.
