Ruby E. Bower age 84 of Newton passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10 at the Chapel Cemetery, Falmouth, Illinois. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday in the cemetery. Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery.
Ruby was born on November 21, 1932 in Carthage, Illinois the daughter of James William and Mabel Vernie (Langdon) Edgcomb. On July 30, 1951, Ruby married Joel Leroy Bower in Mason City, Illinois. Ruby was a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed crochet, reading, and working puzzles. She liked helping others and taking time to visit and share stories. Ruby attended the Falmouth Christian Chapel.
Her parents, husband Joel, sons Leroy Charles Bower and Darrel Lee Bower, two great-grandchildren, and brothers Melvin Edgcomb and Calvin Edgcomb preceded her in death.
Memorial gifts in honor of Ruby may be to either The Master’s Hands, Hope Food Pantry, or to the Scott Avenue Food Pantry.
