Henry Joseph Kuhl, age 66, of Newton, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Tuesday, May 30 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois, with Fr. Mark Stec celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the mass at the church. In loving memory of Henry, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Henry was born on June 9, 1950 in Olney, Illinois the son of John Joseph and Jeanette (Ochs) Kuhl. He served his country in the Illinois National Guard for over 6 years. Henry was a lifelong farmer and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #1704. He was a faithful giver to the Belleville Diocese and started the Henry J. Kuhl priest fund. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting clay pigeons.

Henry is survived by: Mother- Jeanette Kuhl of Newton, Illinois; Children- Trisha (Jeff) Hahn of Paris, Illinois; Liza Kuhl of Wheeler, Illinois; Joe Kuhl of Olney, Illinois and Nicki (Damien) Worrell of Clay City, Illinois; Grandchildren- Chase Evans, Trevin Worrell and Molly Worrell; Sisters - Theresa (Ken) Rudolphi of Newton, Illinois; Marilyn (David) Carlson of Galesburg, Illinois; Kathy (Alex) Chang of Champaign, Illinois and Nancy (Steve) Baker of Rogers, Arkansas. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Henry was preceded in death by his father, grandson Braxton Worrell and niece Rachel Rudolphi.
