Harry Charles Busse, age 93, of Farina, Illinois passed away at 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Evergreen Rehabilitation and Health Care in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois with a two-hour viewing prior to the service. Reverend William Emrick will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in St. Peter, Illinois. Memorials may go to American Kidney Association, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.

Harry was born on March 24, 1924 in St. Peter, Illinois, the son of William E. and Mathilda (Schnarre) Busse. He married Mary A. Parkes on April 25, 1947 in Auburn, Illinois. He was in the U.S Navy during WWII in the South Pacific on the USS Alabama Battleship from 1943 to 1945. He was a grain and livestock farmer since 1949. He was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he served in numerous offices. He was also a member of the Fayette County Farm Bureau, St. Peter American Legion and the La Grove Community School District Board.

He is survived by his two sons, Donald Busse (wife Sheryl) of Farina, Illinois and Kenton Busse (wife Nancy) of Wentzville, Missouri; one daughter, Connie Parmenter of Farina, Illinois and four grandchildren, Ben Parmenter of Seattle, Washington, Aaron Parmenter of Edwardsville, Illinois, Tim Busse of Oswego, Illinois and Heather Bonsell (husband Garrett) of Hillsdale, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mathilda Busse; wife, Mary Busse; daughter, Betty Busse in infancy; one sister, Erma Fogler; brother-in-law, Richard Fogler.
