Patsy L. Schutz, 86, of Vandalia, IL died at 6:45 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2017 at her home at Brookstone Estates, Vandalia.
 
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16 at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown with Don Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Griffith Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and for one hour prior to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haley Chapel, Bluff City or the donor’s choice.
 
Patsy L. Schutz was born on Saturday, August 30, 1930 in Vandalia to Eugene ‘Bonnie’ and Flossie (Kistler) Schutz. She was a faithful member of Haley Chapel United Methodist Church, Bluff City. She was a member of the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce and was a past Woman of the Year Award recipient of the Vandalia Soroptimist Club.
 
She began employment at Burtschi Bros. Title Co., Vandalia immediately following high school graduation in 1949 and has been the owner of the company since 1989.
 
Patsy is survived by her half-sister, Carolyn Blankenship of Keyesport, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Larry Crotser.
 
In memory of Patsy, Burtschi Bros. Title Co. will close at noon on Monday, and remain closed Tuesday.
