Wendal Bauman, age 87, of Farina, Illinois passed away at 3:43 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 in Greenville, Illinois. 
 
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Farina United Methodist Church in Farina, Illinois with a one hour viewing prior to the service.  Rob Dillingham will be officiating.  There will be a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter, Illinois.  Burial will be in Farina Cemetery in Farina, Illinois. Wendal was born on July 26, 1929 in Farina, Illinois, the son of Cloyd W. and Lyla Ann (Dippold) Bauman.  He served in the U. S. Army Medical Corp during the Korean Conflict 1951-1953.  Wendal was a farmer until he retired in 1986.   He loved John Deere tractors. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0411 in Farina, Illinois, the Moose Lodge #361 in Salem, Illinois, the Elks Lodge #1016 in Effingham, Illinois and the United Methodist Church in Farina, Illinois, where he served on several offices.  Wendal attended school in Farina, Illinois and was a graduate of the Surgery and Medical School at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
 
He is survived by his sister, Ann Leonard (husband Charles) of Greenville, Illinois; nephews Hal Langham (wife Debbie), Ty Langham (wife Lisa), Nathan Langham (wife Anne) and Kirk Langham (wife Melody), all of Greenville, Illinois; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyd W. and Lyla Ann Bauman; brother-on-law Dode Langham; and great-niece Allison Langham.
