Dolan Bayler, 81, of Clay City, Illinois, died at 2:18 p.m. Saturday, Novenber 10, 2012 at Evergreen Nursing Home, Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 14 at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City with Gary Pierce officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 13 at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Clay City. Burial will follow services at Foster Hill-Mount Zion Cemetery with full military rites at the graveside. Online condolences may be left at www.summers-kistler.com

Dolan was born March 31, 1931 in Clay County, the son of Earl Dolan and Lola (Benskin) Bayler. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Dolan was an incredible welder and craftsman. He enjoyed being in the woods, cutting wood and he was a man of the land. Dolan loved each one of his grandchildren and saw something unique in each one.

He is survived by special friend, Shirley Martin of Shobonier; daughters, Deborah Lewis of Mason, Becky (husband Jerry) Rickelman of Effingham; son, Randall (wife Teresa) Bayler of Clay City; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fearday of Robinson, Abby Koester of Omega, Aaron Rickelman of Chesterfield, Mo., Tyler Rickelman of Chesterfield, Mo., Dustin Bayler of Noble, Brianna Wilson of West Union and Alexander Bayler of Olney; great-grandchildren, Shelby Koester, Lillie Koester, Cash Veteto, Cohlson Fearday, Ruby Koester, Hadley Koester, Braylee Bayler, Jack Bayler Wilson, and Kerrigan Bayler; sister, Agnes (husband Ronald) Hosselton of Clay City; brother-in-law, Maurice Denton of Olney; nieces, Carol Ann Andreatta and Mary Jane Divine and nephew, David Hosselton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Erma Denton.
