Tanner Thomas Rupinski, 15, of rural Altamont, Illinois died Saturday April 22, 2017 at 8:26 pm in rural Wheatland Township, Fayette County, Illinois near Altamont, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28 at First Christian Church in Altamont with Pastor James Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Altamont. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Altamont. Kull Funeral Chapel in Altamont is assisting. Memorials may be directed to the Choice of the Donor and or to the family of Tanner Rupinski.

Tanner, a child of our heavenly father, was born one of five siblings into the Christian family of Jason and Treva Hubbart-Rupinski. Tanner began his life in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 22, 2001. Later the family moved back to rural Altamont living in the Bethlehem Community, Effingham County, near Altamont where his family roots were established many years back by his German farming immigrants. He was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by Rev. Geoffrey Robinson. Tanner attended the Altamont Grade School and was presently a sophomore at ACHS, (Altamont Community High School). Tanner was a member of the ACHS band playing the saxophone and with a special interest in the guitar. His school activities also lead him to be part of the ACHS track and field team. His special interest in art and drawing kept him occupied in his free time as well as some day focusing to become an aviation pilot. On Wednesday evenings he was very active in the First Christian Church youth activities.

Tanner is survived by: His Parents: Jason Thomas Rupinski and Treva Lee Hubbart-Rupinski of rural Altamont, Illinois; 2-Brothers: Austin Ryan and Hunter Lee Rupinski; 2-Sisters: Sierra Nicole and Morgan Elizabeth Rupinski all at home; Paternal Grandparents: Marlene and husband John Akulic of Madisonville, Tennessee, William Rupinski of St. Elmo, Illinois

He was preceded in death by his: Maternal Grandparents: Leland and Judith Hubbart; and 2-Aunts: Lela Lauter and Diane Hubbart.
