Floyd Everett McElyea, Jr., 85, of Iola died at 9:30am Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26 at 12:30pm at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Visitation will be from 11am to service time Wednesday. Interment will be in Oskaloosa Cemetery at Xenia. Memorials to the donor's choice.

Floyd was born Sunday, March 20, 1932 in Oskaloosa Township, the son of the late Floyd McElyea and the late Nellie (Pickel) McElyea. He was united in marriage to Edith McElyea and she preceded him in death in 2007. He was employed by Tommy Newton of the Xenia Area as a farmer. In his younger days he worked for the B&O Railroad. He enjoyed working on motors, mushroom hunting, hunting wildlife and fishing.
He is survived by sons, John (Cindy) McElyea of Watson, IL and Donald (fiancee Rena Stow) McElyea of Kinmundy, IL; half daughter, Lila (Phil) Bronson of Kinmundy, IL; brothers, George McElyea of Laclede, IL and Bob (Patricia) McElyea of Jeffersonville, IN; sisters, Loretta (Bradley) White of Kinmundy, Daisy (Kenneth) Albert of Salem, Betty (Jesse) Wolf of Sweetwater, TN, Mildred Fancher of Mason and Vicky (Danny) Hall of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Scott (Karly) McElyea of Effingham, Michael McElyea of Watson, Gary Snearley of Olney, Terick Haskins of Alma, Cheyenne McElyea of Kinmundy; step grandchildren April Stow of Alma and Crela Stow of Kinmundy; great grandchildren Amber and Kierra Lillie.
