Katie L. Michlig, 85, of St. Cloud, Florida formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 8:35 A.M. Friday, April 14, 2017 in the St. Cloud Regional Hospital in St. Cloud, Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 21 in the St. Mary of The Assumption Church in Neoga, IL, with the Rev. Father Sunder Ely officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday with a 6:45 P.M. Rosary in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery, Neoga, Illinois.

Katie was born April 9, 1932, in Deland, Illinois, the daughter of Hugh D. and Murna T. (Oakley) Starwalt. She married Leander J. "Lee" Michlig, May 27, 1950 in Neoga, Illinois, and Mr. Michlig passed away February 19, 2015. She was a housewife, homemaker and a former employee of Joann's Fabric's in Kankakee, IL. She was a former member of St. Mary of The Assumption Church, and the Neoga American Legion Auxiliary, both of Neoga. Katie was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills, Florida and she loved to visit with her family and friends.

Mrs. Michlig leaves nine children, Ellen Kay Fallert and husband Kenneth of Columbia, SC, Mark Wayne Michlig and wife Terri of Kissimmee, FL, Carla Jean Michlig-Golz of Kissimmee, FL, Pamela Wilbanks and husband Jerry of Nashville, TN, Kim Erwin and husband Scott of Cave Springs, AR, Cindy Funk and husband Dennis of Kankakee, IL, Leander Michlig, Jr. and wife Pat of Atlanta, GA, Mary Dato of Manteno, IL and Jeffery Michlig and special friend Jean of Daytona Beach, FL; two brothers, Carl Starwalt and wife Evelyn and Harry Starwalt and wife Judy, all of Toledo, IL; three sisters, Maudie Younger of Mattoon, IL, Gladys Burley and Roberta Conrad, both of Toledo, IL; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Michlig was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leander "Lee" Michlig; two daughters, Penny Michlig and Deborah Hogan; five brothers, Ross, Glen, Clema, Robert and Paul Starwalt, one sister Martha Thomas, two half brothers, Leland and Ralph Starwalt.
