Charles J. “Charlie” Roedl, 69, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home in Teutopolis.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 7 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the church, with a 6:45 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and parish prayer service. Memorial donations may be made to Community Support Systems or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Charlie was born December 22, 1947 in Effingham, the son of Dale and Katherine (Weis) Roedl. He married Claudia S. Wilk on August 4, 1973. Charlie was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Claudia of Teutopolis; two sons, John of Effingham and Steve (Kim) of Columbia; two grandchildren, Sam and Ben; four brothers, Dale (Mary Ann) of Mendota, Mark (Joyce) of Effingham, Mike (Brenda) of Teutopolis and Terry (Mariann) of Makanda.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
