Kent Allen Einhorn, age 52, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, at his home. He had struggled with depression for many years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Friday, April 7 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Thursday at the church and 1 hour before the mass in the St. Joseph’s parish hall. In loving memory of Kent, memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.

Kent was born on December 2, 1964, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Albert Bernard and Christine May (Ochs) Einhorn. He married Gailene Michelle Lewis on May 31, 1986, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois, and she survives. Kent graduated from Newton Community High School in 1983. He currently worked at Stevens Industries. Kent enjoyed spending time with his family, four-wheeler riding and deer hunting but his greatest joy came from his sons, whether it be watching them play their chosen sports or taking pride in their scholastic accomplishments. He loved his wife and boys with all his heart.

Kent is survived by his wife of 30 years- Gail of Dieterich, Illinois; Four sons - Dylan of Charleston, Illinois, Garrett, Austin and Kaden all at home; Mother - May Einhorn of Newton, Illinois; Sisters - Susie (Mark) Fitzmaurice of Newton, Illinois, Delores (Jim) Tarr of Newton, Illinois, Patsy (Rick) Street of Wheeler, Illinois, Shirley (Donnie) Starwalt of Montrose, Illinois, Carolyn Westendorf of Dieterich, Illinois and Alberta (Linus) Willenborg of Effingham, Illinois; Brothers - Dennis (Debbie) of Newton, Illinois, Duane Einhorn (Kathy Green) of Newton, Illinois, Don of Newton, Illinois, Bob (Kate) Einhorn of Teutopolis, Illinois and Harold (Sharon) of Newton, Illinois.

Kent was preceded in death by his father, brother Larry Joe Einhorn and father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Eunice Lewis.
