Audrey E. “Betty” Chapman, age 90, of Manhattan, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) – Monday, April 3 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois, with Betty’s nephew Dr. Ron York, officiating the committal service. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – until service time.

Audrey better known as “Betty” was born on March 20, 1927, in Sumner, Illinois, the daughter of Glen and Irene (Weaver) Cantwell. She married Delbert O. Chapman and he preceded her in death. She lived in Manhattan for 58 years, retired from Caterpillar in 1988. Betty will be known for her pristine yard, her incredible work ethic, her neighborly ways, her talent in making quilts and square dancing clothes, and her warm smile to name a few.

Betty is survived by her sisters, June Tharp of Crown Point, IN, Bonnie (Joe) York of Parkersburg, IL, her brother, Robert "Dee" Cantwell of Paducah, KY, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband of over 34 years, sister Virginia McQuin, and her brothers, Glen Jr. (Sonny) Cantwell, William (Mervin) Cantwell, and Charles Cantwell.
